With brand-new committee chairs and members, the Community Events Committee is expanding on the group's historical duties and is thrilled to offer a series of pop-up events that link psychoanalytic thinking with other creative modalities such as the arts, the medical field, and other service-oriented providers. We invite you to keep your eyes and ears open for our upcoming events, which may include TV screenings, panel discussions, open mics, and other engaging community experiences. Within two months of taking the reins, and with the help of committee member Nicole Hsiang, the CEC was able to offer programming that connected the art world with psychoanalytic theory by hosting a thought-provoking artist meet-and-greet in Oakland.
We do not thrive in silos, and the CEC's intention is to bring awareness to the relevance of analytic thinking in the context of the greater community, as well as our relevance as thinking beings in a culture that often values complacency. When we all come together to think, share ourselves, and our work, everyone benefits.
