In conversation and through observation of the current moment, the Intensive Study Group Committee develops topics that speak to the local psychoanalytic community. Through the deepening conversations over the yearlong course, we hope to provide an inspiring, safe environment for practitioners to delve into these themes and bring compassionate insight into clinical intervention.

Experiencing the events of the past year — and their impact on individuals, relationship, and cultural structures — led to “Rupture: Pain & Possibility.” It was inspired by shared isolative experience during the pandemic, and the sociopolitical and personal events that have shaken our sense of security. The course, beginning in the Fall of 2021 and continuing through Spring of 2022, will include a deeper exploration of trauma theory from multiple perspectives.
