“If a woman has sexual fantasies about men, does that mean she's straight?” This is the question, asked by a lesbian client, which generated the idea for this paper. She was experiencing some confusion and guilt, wondering if fantasizing about men, meant that she really wanted to be with men, namely that she secretly desired to be heterosexual. This paper is a self-psychological exploration of the sexual fantasies of four lesbians and the role played by the presence of men in their fantasy lives.
