This introduction to the two-paper panel, “Reconsidering questions regarding mutual analysis,” provides a context for the two papers that follow. The historical antecedents and contemporary climate for the issue of mutual analysis-and analytic mutuality more generally-are described. Each author's contribution is introduced, as are the essential questions common to the panel as a whole.
