We should all feel very thankful to the Berlin psychoanalyst, historian of psychoanalysis and associate editor of IFP Andrea Huppke for having written for us, members of the IFPS, the first history of the foundation and first phase of life of our Federation – which will celebrate its 60th anniversary in October 2022, at the next Forum in Madrid. Huppke’s book is based on the dissertation she wrote with the assistance of Klaus Hoffmann and Thomas Müller, which she discussed in June 2018 with the University of Konstanz, and whose Chapter 1 is published in this issue of our journal.
