We will show how talent can be a medium for psychic survival and/or creativity for an artist and how this can be made concrete. Bacon managed to survive through art, and then to make a living from his art and through his art, via a series of innovative steps in the finalization of his creations. An artist with multiple addictions, he had to paint to survive until he realized that he had to paint feelings in order to live. His difficult life became the subject of his works, but he insisted that his art should not be limited to his life story. Nor did Bacon not restrict himself to producing paintings, innovating by finishing his works with the addition of glass panes and also by “theorizing” his style. He conceptualized his approach of depicting the experiences of the body, movement, and the interplay of gazes. Bacon thus transcended his own existence and found in art the means of bearing public witness to the torments of human existence through the body. His approach to painting, to the gaze and his conceptualization of his works attest to the originality of his creativity.
