Although we regret to announce the sale of our now former publisher, Whurr Publishers Ltd, of the UK, we are delighted to announce that our new publisher will be John Wiley & Sons Ltd. We are pleased to be working with this respected and renowned publisher, and look forward to many fruitful years of work together in publishing our journal.
In this issue we also announce the International Conference on Prejudice and Conflict in Salt Lake City, Utah, USA, December 2-4, 2005, sponsored by the International Psychotherapy Institute, the International Journal of Applied Psychoanalytic Studies, and the International Association of Applied Psychoanalytic Studies, to which we invite all of our readers.
Our journal is also honored to be asked to support a new outreach effort by psychoanalysts interested in schools and teachers: The Interdisciplinary Psychoanalysis and Pre-K-12 Education Award, as detailed below. Papers selected will be assessed for publication in this journal, which has a strong interest and commitment to matters concerning education. Over the years, we have published several papers and two special issues: one on Education and Psychoanalysis, edited by Jonathan Cohen, and the other on Stopping School Violence, edited by Stuart Twemlow and Jonathan Cohen. We appreciate the opportunity to receive further high quality work. In addition, the work of the Liaison to Schools Committee of the American Psychoanalytic Association was instrumental in sponsoring a special Educator Associate Member category and regular symposia on Education at our professional meetings. We are grateful to Phyllis Cath MD, Stephen Kerzner MD, Jonathan Cohen PhD, Dan Frank PhD, and all the others who have devoted a great deal of time and effort to bring this all about.
What follows in the issue is a special issue on psychoanalytic ethics, ably developed and guest-edited by Gerald Garguilo PhD, followed by a contribution by Isaac Tylim PhD, on the important processes of apology and forgiveness,
