As we complete our eighth year of publication of the International Journal of Applied Psychoanalytic Studies, we want to thank John Wiley & Sons for some innovative ideas that will assist earlier publication for our authors, and for a streamlined and helpful way to organize manuscripts. Eliminating all technical details, the upshot of this innovation is that papers cannot be printed in the journal in a timely fashion because of page limitations, based on budget allocations each year. These papers can, however, be published online up to three issues ahead. Hence, authors can receive early publication with an appropriate link number so that others can view their articles. This innovation is equivalent to publication and thus allows authors who, for academic and other reasons, wish to cite their articles as published to do so. More information about how this works can be obtained from Mary Mochrie at Wiley (e-mail mmochrie@wiley.co.uk).

So what we have decide to do is to review articles that we know are going to be in one or other form, but list in the printed version which articles will be on early view.

All those interviewed tended to have a concept of God as a force of energy rather than any particular human form. We are aware of the importance of spiritual ideas to the mental health of psychiatric patients, beyond the dated psychoanalytic view. And many facilities and organizations that treat mental illnes
