In this contribution the author seeks to examine the theological and psychoanalytic concepts in order to cast light on terrorism and religious bigotry. He suggest that the suicidal terrorist is moved by unconscious sources within his archaic Oedipus Complex (Kleinian version) and by the propensity for self sacrifice, human sacrifice being the hidden order of the Oedipus complex. The author carries this theme through other related themes: the battle between men and women or patriarchy versus matriarchy, the issue of dependency in psychoanalysis and religion, the anatomy of terror, dehu-manization and; other themes.
