This is written for my Zaida. Although physically he's not here; his spirit, teachings, compassion, and love are never gone, and possibly more present than ever. He lives within his eight grandchildren, three sons, and the infinite communities, families, and individuals he dedicated his life educating and supporting. Thank you, Henri, a.k.a. Zaida.
Poem:
To the man who is the bravest, strongest, and most passionate human-being I ever, and will ever, know. Thank you for providing me with your boundless love and kindness.
To the things I never thanked you for, but never felt the need to. You knew it all. We shared all the same thoughts.
However, now that I'm at your celebration with all your favorite people, I thought I'd share some of our thoughts aloud.
My Zaida,Thank you for teaching me how to think.Thank you for teaching me how to create.Thank you for pushing me to be curious.Thank you for showing me how to be strong.
