J. K. Rowling's Harry Potter novels have found unparalleled, record-breaking success. With over six hundred million copies sold worldwide, Harry Potter is the most successful book series in history. It was a brutal act of mass-murder in which he killed his father and both of his paternal grandparents. Voldemort's fictional narrative will be examined from a forensic–psychoanalytic perspective with reference made to Freud's Oedipus complex.
