In this article, I have coined the term misogynart, to describe visual art and media that is misogynistic. I will consider how this term might relate to the way violent women are able, or not able, to understand themselves and the consequences of their violence. I will use clinical material to demonstrate the startling difference in the way violent women are represented in misogynart, compared to the ways in which they represent themselves in their own images made in forensic art psychotherapy.
