Dr. Washburn's book makes good reading and should serve as a helpful guide to parents. The material is presented simply and holds the reader's interest. It challenges parents to seek the reasons for the behaviour of their children. Only through real insight can the daily problems and conflicts shown by all children be adequately met. The author places special emphasis on the importance of a sane and objective attitude towards the child's sex interests and activities. Dr. Washburn urges parents to turn to the experienced psychologist for guidance with the emotional problems of their children, not only as a therapeutic measure but also for prophylactic reasons.
