Clinical material is presented to demonstrate that the postural behaviour of every patient has definite motivation. Postural changes occur with changes in the analysis and new postures are determined by the material released through the analysis. Postural reactions may express either anxiety or its repression. Movements are repeated until the tension is adequately discharged. The meaning of all postures and involuntary motor reactions is over-determined.
