Fortschritter der Neurologie und Psychiatrie, 1950, Part 1.
The paper deals with a phenomenon which has some resemblance to the change of symptoms in hysteria. The material is based on a statistical analysis of the records of Heidelberg Psychiatric Clinic. The expansive form was the most common form of G.P.I. in 1892 (46 per cent. in 1892, 9 per cent. in 1942), while simple dementia is the most common form in 1942 (77 per cent. in 1942, 32 per cent. in 1892). The change is statistically significant, but no explanation is offered.
