Thirty-seven cases of learning difficulties are surveyed, the results confronted with the relevant literature, and the diminished capacity to learn related to the various underlying causes and conflicts, such as organic defects and illness, anxieties, object relations, inhibitions, neurotic illness and ego maturation.
