This book is an attempt to define terms used particularly in politics. That such an attempt needs to be made no one will deny, particularly in these days of diffuse and vague phraseology. The authors bring a vast scholarship to bear on the problem. A glance at the index will show the range of references involved in their task, and they are indeed to be complimented on the results so excellently brought together as the result of a huge amount of work. To the psycho-analyst, however, definitions such as these are of little value, and he is unlikely to find the book of use to him in his work, though he may feel it in his interests to be aware of the work being done in this field, as a part of the framework of his wider culture.
