It seems reasonable to assume that handwriting is self-expressive. The difficulty is to establish 'scientifically' the correlation between specific writing habits and specific character traits. This book summarizes the history of the subject, discusses the developmental stages of handwriting and then reviews the techniques and methods used in its analysis and interpretation. The author gives a table of the 'graphic indicators' and their corresponding personality factors that she herself employs. She has had much experience and, as used by her, this method can produce results that have value for vocational guidance and even for diagnosis between serious and minor mental disorder. The 'Sample Analyses with the Use of Work Sheets' are of considerable interest and lend support to the view that graphology merits further research and is not a parlour game.
