This little book is one of a series called 'New Knowledge Books'. It contains an elaboration and interpretation of Rudolf Steiner's teachings and doctrines. A nomenclature is applied which is taken neither from everyday language nor from any other coherent terminology. The words 'soul' and 'spirit' seem to be code terms for emotions
and intelligence and consciousness respectively. The reader is presented with a dithyrambic adoration of colour, with symbolic comparisons, i.e. 'body breathes air, soul breathes colour', with semi-scientific thinking, with allegorical and animistic thoughts. With a crescendo of emotions the author describes an inner experience resembling that of an ecstasy in a spiritual seance. All ideas, feelings, and sensations merge into one; soul and colour then give way to Light and Darkness, and the little book ends with words from the Gospel of St. John.
