Dr. Stern went to Canada from Germany just before the war. He published his biography The Pillar of Fire in 1951. In it he vividly described his conversion to Roman Catholicism. Dr. Stern is now Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Ottawa. In The Third Revolution he criticizes some modern trends in psychology and psychiatry which neglect the essential individuality of patients' lives and states that psycho-analytic theory and practice hold out most hope for a future to psychiatry in which religion is accepted and utilized. He closely argues his belief that science and Christianity must be integrated so that man may feel 'humbled, instead of humiliated'.
