The author continues his paper with another example of a dream in which the multiple interrelations of its latent thoughts could be construed as suggesting 'precognitive' and telepathic knowledge. The dream seemed to occur under the stress of intense rivalry with another patient—telepathically intuited—and to refer to it.
Eisenbud does not consider that 'precognition' necessarily implies the existence of hitherto unsuspected dimensions of time. It might imply instead unsuspected dimensions of mind; and these, he indicates, may provide the first steps towards bridging many of the discontinuities in natural scientific theory, such as the conflict between indeterminacy in some fields and determinacy in others.
