This paper discusses the use of a particular model of motor car as a dream element. The speed of a car and the type of journey is often
used to portray the progress of an analysis. More specifically a car may represent the entire body or parts of it. It may represent the genitals or their functioning. The author emphasizes that the car is a bisexual symbol. Five dreams are presented from the analyses of four male patients where the type of car dreamt of was a 'convertible'. This type of car was chosen because it could represent the idea of the patient being converted or transformed into a woman.
