This paper presents material from the analysis of several patients in late adolescence. From the course of the analysis it became evident that following an intense working through of conflictual material, there was a period of homeostasis, and absence of analytic motivation. It is postulated that this represents an ego reintegration which is normal for this period of development, and is a final latency period prior to the attainment of full maturation.
