The next issue of the Journal will mark the completion of Volume 50, and will consist of papers specially written for the anniversary number. In addition to this the Editorial Group has decided to republish papers of particular historical significance which have previously appeared in the Journal. We have inaugurated this new policy in the present issue by including in it two articles by James Strachey and Edward Bibring, and will continue to reprint psychoanalytic classics from time to time in future issues. We hope that this policy will meet with general approval.
