The editors John Frosch and Nathaniel Ross, with the help of their colleagues, are heroically carrying on the monumental task of précising, abstracting and coordinating the bulk of analytic literature and presenting it in a systematic form under various topics. The project started in 1950, and each volume deals with the published work in one year. Volume 9 brings us to the year 1958.
To analysts and research workers their survey provides an invaluable guidebook, and it would be ungracious to complain of the ten year gap in time, because this work is very time-consuming, and one can only congratulate the editors, Drs Frosch and Ross, for their persistence with this inordinately arduous task and for doing it so comprehensively and methodically.
