The San Francisco Psychoanalytic Institute announces the inception of two annual prizes of $500.00 each for original papers on child analysis to be known as the Harold S. Rosenberg Memorial Prizes. One prize will be offered for a paper from a candidate in child analytic training at any recognized training centre. The second prize will be offered to any graduate child analyst.
The prizes have been established in memory of Harold S. Rosenberg by his family to encourage those who are interested in psycho-analysis as a research and clinical tool for the study and treatment of children. Dr Rosenberg had been a candidate at the San Francisco Psychoanalytic Institute when he died unexpectedly in 1977 while he was still a candidate. He was especially interested in the care and treatment of children.
A committee of five child analysts will judge the papers on the basis of clinical relevance and theoretical significance. The committee will consist of Dr Calvin F. Settlage, Chairman, Dr Jules M. Weiss, Secretary, Dr Humberto Nagera, Mrs Hansi Kennedy and Dr Robert E. Westfall.
Papers submitted for this year should be postmarked no later than 30 April 1979. For further information contact:
