Dear Sir,
I feel it necessary to correct two errors contained in the review of Patrick Casement's book On Learning From the Patient (Tavistock, 1985) which appeared in the December 1985 number of this journal. Both of these errors are omissions pertaining to the influence of the work of Robert Langs on Casement's ideas.
In paragraph six of the review Mr Fonagy attributes the term 'interactional viewpoint' to Casement whereas, as Casement himself mentions on page seventy-one of his book, the term comes from Langs.
