The article in the last issue of this journal by Irwin Z. Hoffman, ‘The myths of free association and the potentials of the analytic relationship’ [87(1):43-61], contains two errors in the first paragraph of the printed version. Instead of beginning with ‘I am going to present’ it begins awkwardly with ‘I present’, and, in line 6, of a less serious nature, instead of ‘I will not be attempting here’ it reads ‘I do not attempt here’. The online version of the paper and all reprints are correct. The hard copy issue reflects changes made without the author's consent after he had approved the final page proofs. We apologize to Dr. Hoffman for violating the agreement to publish the paper as it stood with his approval and for making changes that he did not authorize.
