The Education Section publishes papers for use in teaching. Sometimes we publish a series of papers on a topic (for example, countertransference, the Oedipus complex, unconscious phantasy) — from different theoretical points of view — and sometimes review papers of the work of an individual analyst (Winnicott, for example). With this issue we are pleased to present three papers on the theme of psychosomatics. Topics in the pipeline include further papers on the use of the past in the clinical situation; a series on projective identification and also on intersubjectivity; and review papers on the work of the Balints and of André Green. We are always happy to receive suggestions for topics.
There have been some changes recently in the Education Section's group of editors. Jorge Canestri has been named Editor of the IJP European Board, and I have taken over from him as Education Section Chair. Liliane Abensour and Silvia Flechner have had to step down — Liliane after working on the Section from its inception some 10 years ago. I am very grateful to them for their work. The current editors of the Section are myself, Abel Fainstein (Buenos Aires), Nathan Kravis (New York), Evelyn Séchaud (Paris) and Heinz Weiß (Stuttgart).
