Analytic approaches to listening have often been akin to vision, favouring the production of understanding and meaning, says Bruce Reis. His paper distinguishes a model of listening called listening-with, based on an aural approach, which instead of seeking hidden meanings, entails abiding within a space of not-knowing and of not trying to know.

They also look at how processes of symbolization can be mobilized in videogame worlds.
Anat Tzur Mahalel examines H. D.'s dialogue with Freud on themes of time and timelessness. In reading H. D.’s memoir Tribute to Freud (1974), the paper argues that timelessness offered H.D. a path into the realm of imagination and fantasy, not sufficiently acknowledged by Freud. The significance of timelessness is discussed in relation to André Green and Walter Benjamin.
