In this paper we shall not study evil latus sensus. The object of study is one of the faces of wickedness, when it begins in the person, advances in the collective dimension, and contaminates the social scenario. The Holocaust will be used as its representational element. Freud's writings suggest the hypothesis that, in the social dimension, the helplessness of the primal horde in the face of Nature, remains as a traumatic experience to be developed phylogenetically.
Culture, product of the collective mind and a derivative of the civilizing process, indirectly informs about the degree of stability of the instinctual repression. In times when repression seems to fail, imbalances that generate storms of drive arise, mimicking the traumatic in the social dimension.
There are creative bursts in a historic moment dominated by an excess of Eros, a fact that is often accompanied by its opposite, a rampant destructiveness, result of the release of defused death drive. Therefore, if in the early period the social trauma was due to the relentless force of Nature, in the presence of civilization, it is the irrepresentable drive force which traumatizes. It is, therefore, in the domain of drive intoxication that the occurrence of the wickedness vertex is understood, a phenomenon arising from the problematization of the representability function of drive in the cultural field.
