In this article the authors present the introduction of a therapeutic football group in a children's psychiatric day hospital. They provide relevant information relating to the progress of the group supported by clinical examples. The authors develop the central question of groups in a day hospital and the place of the subject in a group, followed by a reflection on issues raised by the use of sports device choosing a popular sport, both in terms of motor and psychic implications. They also discuss the importance of considering the space within which unfolds this group; they propose to primarily think of it as an interstice, at the border of the various activities scheduled in a day hospital. The development of a therapeutic setting in the interstice allows exploring some of the subject psychic movements in an elective way. The authors propose to revise therapeutic issues and some aspects of play in groups in the light of this interstice.
