In 1980, the works of André Green on “the died mother” introduce a reflection as for the consequences of the psychic death of the mother, occuring too early in the life of the child. Having lived the first happy moments with the child, the mother, struck suddenly by an event which brings down her, does not any more succeed in granting him (her) the same love nor the same interest. The overthrow of the maternal imago thus generated, causing both a loss of maternal love and a loss of the sense of the life, immerses the child into an “infantile depression”, and will affects future investments of object.
From these elements and taking support on the melancholy, we propose a reflection around the stakes which would present this time the confrontation of the child not to a “died mother” as Green proposes it, but to a mother who would seem straightaway missing.
