In this paper an attempt was made to trace the repercussions, both seeming and ulterior ones, of Lacanian Symbolic on the subject's appreciation of normal and aberrant behaviors in a social network and to evaluate the authenticity of the symbolic construction and of its offered alternatives regarded as the criteria upon which the subject is to act in Vladimir Nabokov's Lolita . In so doing, the Lacanian notions germane to the above-mentioned issues will be first fully discussed, and then applied to Nabokov's selected work to observe how the unconscious acts on the basis of social ideologies, however detrimental it would be, and what ramifications it could have on the person's life without his appreciation of them. Ultimately, a conclusion will be elaborated which might be of great help to readers of the novel. It is indeed, a theoretical examination of the novel. This study, it is hoped, will help with ascertaining the influence of Lacanian Symbolic on people's daily lives, while most of them are not aware of, and familiar with, its corrosive, pervasive effects.
