This work originates from some reflections I have developed in over twenty years of practise as a psychoanalyst and as an Academic researcher in the field of eating disorders. I will discuss anorexia and bulimia by the way of psychoanalytic theory with the support of empirical evidences in the field of clinical psychology. I propose a new way to consider eating disorders giving a primary importance to drive repression and object avoidance and stimulating a reflection above the displacement on hunger and on food.
