The desire for a child gradually emerges in infancy, it is based in the identificatory movements that bind the little girl to her mother at the beginning of life. Archaic traumas, undeveloped mourning and unstated experiences reveal significant clefts in the psychic envelopes, reactivating each crisis situation such as pregnancy, the most archaic anxieties of the psychic apparatus. Any failure of the container function that is an early maternal function can hinder the process of becoming a parent and leaves the pregnant woman helpless against the threat of her own projective identifications that may be pathological. In this case the psychosomatic expression in repetitive miscarriages would be the only way to seek help. The purpose of this article is to become aware through representative case, avatars of pregnancy, to approach this process of updating parental identifications, and finally help any woman wanting a child to rebuild by strengthening its containing function. Projective tests are ultimate the means to explore this track and we find relevant clues as keys to the unconscious life.
