Sexual identity, gender identity and object choice are studied in terms of their characteristics, the way they are structured with each other and in terms of the ability of these concepts to represent the expressions of sexuality, from the “polymorphous perverse” to the genital. The notion of gender seems to represent both an attempt to express the “polymorphous” and an unconscious trial to repress the sexual, the physical, and the mental conflict.
We form the hypothesis that the identity of the subject of sexuality is the rest of the mental content that remains after the splitting and expulsion in the object of aspects of the original “polymorphous” of the subject. The consequence of this is that, in some personality pathologies, which may be related to some modern socio-symbolic features, the original, in the course of psychosexual development, fluidity of sexual identity and sexual object can remain strongly active. In this case, in the context of the relation to the object, the subject lives both on his own side and, unconsciously, on the part of the object, where part of his elements have been “implanted”.
