This paper explores the nature and function of the sexualization of the concept of race in the context of social change by bringing some applications of diverse psychoanalytic concepts to this issue. Miscegenation is cited as an example of how sexualization of race operates to represent and manipulate issues of political, economic, social and psychological arrangement in a society. Evidence for the psychoanalytic assertions comes from two racist propaganda films, the American The Birth of a Nation and the German Jud Suss (Suss the Jew). The sexualization of race is analyzed in conjunction with issues of gender, class, and geography.
