The purpose of my Kohut Memorial Lecture was to share highlights of my personal and theoretical/clinical journey within our world of psychoanalysis. In addition, I took this opportunity to recognize some of those persons in our community who have played an invaluable role in my professional and personal life. Traversing my theoretical journey, I highlighted my work on dreams, motivational systems, transference, countertransference, listening perspectives, touch love, self psychological and Relational psychoanalysis, and implicit and explicit systems in the integration of cognitive science.
