This is my testimony as a therapist on how my personal hopes to heal and grow have been transformed through my emotional engagement with patients and through, often times, retraumatizing impasses. I describe how re-finding myself always emotionally situated in a particular context, a fluctuating and growing complexity sensibility, sustains me in those impasses. I describe a silent impasse in which re-finding myself and bodily seizing this experience enables me, at times, to do better than survive. This would not be possible without my participation in this professional community.
