In the landscape of folk tales, we are invited into the experiential world of the protagonist as they undertake a journey of transformation and growth. In the process of transformation an old way of being is let go to allow new life to return, like spring following a long, cold winter. In this psychotherapeutic tale, I explore Sage’s journey from the toxic winter wasteland that was the only existence possible in her traumatic developmental world to the blossoming of her senses coming alive and her felt sense of her own agency. In parallel, I follow my own path to develop a voice.
