In this essay to her western colleagues, the author addresses a hope of a more resolute Ukraine who will after the current war do more than simply “accept and move on.” She expresses the hope that the future will see the establishment of a more resolute Ukraine, ready to defend and define itself as a fully autonomous society and nation, to go beyond survival mode even while recognizing the savage violence and loss her country has suffered.
