Dear Professor Freud,
Shaken to the depths as I am by the events taking place in Austria, I cannot omit expressing my most profound sympathy with you and offering you all the help that lies in my power. I should be delighted if there were anything practical I could do to demonstrate the gratitude that I feel towards you. The lecture I am giving to-night again reminds me of the tremendous amount that science has to thank you for. I am convinced that every member of the Psycho-Analytical Society will be proud of the opportunity of being of service to you and your delightful family.
In cordial gratitude and friendship,
Yours,
Pfister
