Haifa, Mt. Carmel, House Dr. Moses
29. 7. 36
Dear Father Freud,
When Dr. Eitingon came to visit us, it was not settled when I should be coming to Vienna-whether the middle or the end of August. Now it is decided that I shall sail on August 7th as Hermann Struck and his wife are also going to Vienna then and I could scarcely expect to find better travelling companions. Until my doctors have given their verdict, I am bound to regard a railway journey as a risk I do not want to run if I know I have no one with me who could help were I to have a set-back. But now all our minds are at rest and though my little Adam had a bowel upset a few days ago and though these last ten days will be very full of work and preparations, I am delighted that I shall be seeing you and your family so much sooner than I expected. I intend to ring you up on the 14th: est hic surrexit.
Till then I send warmest greetings as harbingers of my coming.
Yours
Arnold Zweig
