Dear Professor,
I am reading your work on the neuroses [General Theory of the Neuroses] again, and I take the opportunity to tear out my most recent comments from my loose-leaf book to send you as a postscript to the letter I wrote you the other day. Please do not bother to return them; they are only meant as a greeting; perhaps you would write ‘yes’ or even just a question mark, where appropriate? I hope this layman's approach will not annoy you.
