Vienna IX, Berggasse 19
Dear Frau Andreas
I have for long been unable to bring myself to write to you, or rather to lament to you, e.g., about the fact that for three weeks I have been without news of my eldest son, knowing as I do how worried and anxious you are about all your relatives in Russia.
So I will confine myself to telling you that the transactions of the congress will be made generally accessible in the next numbers of the Journal. As soon as the whole system, which is now almost at a standstill, gets going again, a psycho-analytic publishing firm is to be founded, which shall have as its task the publication in extended form of the two periodicals (Imago and Journal) in sufficiently large editions, and these will be supplemented by further publications. A sum of 250 million Kronen, which has been made available by a patron in Budapest, forms the basis of these plans. Two of my books, which were destined for you, are held up in Teschen, which is now Czech territory—ready for the journey, but unable to proceed further.
But if the tempo of change continues for some time as it is at present, then the restoration of communications and the possibility of seeing you again will be no mere Utopian dreams.
Meanwhile with warmest greetings,
Yours,
Freud
