[Postcard]
[Göttingen] 26.xi.1918
From the bottom of my heart, dear Professor, I hope that in the interval your great anxiety may have been dispelled. In the confusion of the retreats one must expect every sort of delay and disorder. What difficult days of waiting these must be for you. Perhaps when they end happily you will send me a few words on a postcard? I look forward with hungry expectation to the books announced by you. No doubt you sent them by registered post, so that I shall get them all right. Today only my warmest greetings— till the next time. I am writing with numbed fingers, because there is no possibility of warming up this beautiful golden-white winter day with any sort of heating.
How will things be by the time we see each other again at last? And shall we?
Yours,
Lou Andreas
