Dear Professor,
What a pleasure it was to read that! Although there is still much to concern you, especially in the uncertainty about the reason for your son being in hospital, nevertheless the main cause for anxiety is now over. I received both cards today. As a result of the delay the books will now arrive in time for Christmas. And I was delighted to hear what you have to say of an independent psycho-analytic publishing house, which will ensure the continuance of all your publications.
Warmest thanks for your card about your eldest son—to be followed sometime perhaps by a still more auspicious one? Just a word when you have a minute!
