Villa Wassing
Dearest Lou
You know that it was only the overwork of the last few weeks which could have caused me to leave your last letter but one unanswered. Your last one I am answering from my fount of rejuvenation, from which I hope to derive strength for a new and equally strenuous season of work.
The Vienna Society was sensible enough to congratulate itself on your admission. Shortly beforehand your shadow was to be seen flitting across the stage in the shape of Anna's really excellent lecture. I cannot find words to express how pleased I am that you take so affectionate an interest in her. She had wished for years to make your acquaintance, a wish whose fulfilment was frustrated by the war.
Max Eitingon, who counts himself a regular member of my family, certainly knew what he was doing when he included you in this family circle. It should be very pleasant in September.
You have no doubt already received the money intended for the stay in Göttingen.
With cordial wishes,
Yours,
Freud
