I acknowledge receipt and perusal of the third instalment of your letters to a lady-friend. As fascinating as the earlier ones, perhaps less whimsical. Because of its forcefulness alone this work should become known among the public, as it emphasises the real novelty of psychoanalysis, and it should break down prejudices and narrowmindedness and provoke violent outbursts of insult.
